# Wired: Why has BlackBerry been blamed for the London riots?

This is ridiculous—as ridiculous as calling Lybia/Tunisia/Egypt “Twitter” revolutions. We are not blaming BBM for riots; the media just likes to sensationalise things and people tend to pick up on it because it’s easy to poke a stick at. You create something and ask people why it exists? It’s absolute pants. Social networking does not overthrow governments!
