I think his points are valid. Two thoughts, though: 1) What are the reasons behind our low birth rate (honest question), and 2) Japan has a lot more money than we do. I suppose being tax-deductible isn’t good enough for most—maybe we should pump some of the money used to attract foreign talent into more benefits for having kids, but I’m not an LKYSPP student.

As an aside, I find it ridiculous that I have to check a box that says I agree to the T&Cs of subscribing to The Straits Times online every time I log in. Bureaucrats.
