Apparat — Black Water
Music video for a track off Sascha Ring’s new album which drops next month. Listen to another track—Ash/Black Veil—on One Thirty BPM.
Nicholas Chim ft. Aarika Lee — I Want You Again
Nick’s probably one of the most underrated musicians I know with some really interesting stories. Every time I’ve seen him perform in public places it’s been a bit hard to tear myself away, but for some reason people keep walking by.
Nick will be performing this Sunday at Baybeats (thanks Lyndsey!), and if you want to catch Aarika in action, she and her hip-hop band Sixx (along with DJ Koflow) will be performing at Model for Hope on the 26th at Zouk.
M83 — Midnight City[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]
Yay new(ish) M83. Sounds like Passion Pit meets Daft Punk. That sax bit at the end is either brilliant or campy; I can’t decide.
Feist — How Come You Never Go There[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]
Yay new Feist. She could sing a song about pancakes and it would still sound wonderful. New album drops October 3.
Wilco — I Might[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]
Yay new Wilco. Fuzzy.
Ellie Goulding — Heartbeats[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]
Ellie Goulding covered Jose Gonzalez/The Knife’s Heartbeats on BBC Radio 1 back in March. It’s actually pretty good.
The Cinematic Orchestra — To Build A Home[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]
Preemptive earworm for tonight’s walk back from the library. This is the version from the Royal Albert Hall in 2007 which starts to really kick in at the five-minute mark. What I would’ve given to have been there.
Christian Prommer's Drumlesson — Hear Us Now[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]
When I walk back from the library late at night, I’ve usually got music playing on my earphones—thanks, Paul—and a drink in my hand. Tonight was Christian Prommer and Gordon’s (although I’m more of a Beefeater person, but I’ll take what I can get):

This comes in a can now—you can get a six-pack of it at ASDA for £6—and it’s surprisingly decent. I mean, Gordon’s is already pretty alright, but this is the first time I’ve ever done G&T from a can.
